    IOR/Valdada 2-12x32 or 2.5-10x42

I'm getting ready to dump my mallninja-tastic TA01NSN for a hunting scope and have narrowed it down to these two. I've considered Accupoints but their size is kinda large for stalking in the mountains - I'm open to suggestions

Why are you switching out the Trijicon? Need more power?

I'm going after Dall Sheep in August so a variable will better fit my needs. I've got close-up work covered between my M&P .460 Rowland and 329PD.

After a bit more research I've added the Vortex 2.5-10x44 Viper PST to the list and was wondering what ya'll thoughts were.

Budget? I really like the Vortex 2.5-10x44 PST, as it is pretty small, with a lot of great features. If you're going to be shooting in limited light, you need to determine what your budget is, because top-end glass will cost you.

I just saw some really beautiful glass from Leica in a 1-6.3x24 at Lapua's booth at an outdoor expo here in Finland where I'm visiting.

I'd like to stay under $1K which added with your previous endorsement I started looking at Vortex. There are a lot of options at that price-point - almost too much. I was also considering an Accupoint in either 3-9 or 2.5-10 but they seem a bit bulky. How do they compare to the Vortex?

Some of the Accupoints are fairly compact, especially the 1-4x24's, and the 3-9x are pretty standard at around 12" in length. If you want to stay under 1k, the Vortex is extremely difficult to beat. Many companies are responding, but I haven't seen anything yet with all the same features, especially zero-stop, awesome turrets, and matching reticles to knobs.

LR - did you notice the asterisk on the Leica?

    * Not available in USA & Canada.

As an avid amatuer photographer - I love Nikon and Leica glass. But you do pay a price.

When politicians hear the term "Embargo", their panties get sweaty from the excitement, knowing they are about to cash in bigtime. For us peasants, well, we're left with nothing.
