    Lapua Lapua 123 gr. Scenar RL-15 29.5 gr. Fed. 205M 2.265"

This is the powder I'm using but I have 123 A-Max instead of lapua is it safe to use this data for my Amax? Also can u explain what I'm looking at here. I understand the first part and the OAL but what is the Fed. 205M the brass that was used?

I tried this load at Lapua Nosler 120 gr. Ballistic Tip Varget 28.5 gr. CCI #450 2.260" and I had several cases come out good, however I had 3 of them blow out the side by the rim, I wish I would have saved the cases. A member from another forum swears by the accuracy that comes from the Grendel, I purchased a firearm from him and was I disappointed with the results, he fixed it sent me another barrel but still wasn't impressed with the accuracy. He agreed to load some rounds for me and upon attempting to chamber a round in my AR the whole case got stuck! It quickly ruined my day at the range and had a hard time trying to remove it. I have had some moments with this caliber that I was almost at the point on giving up on it.. I bought my gages for reloading and such but I still don't feel confident in reloading this caliber. I can reload the .243 for the AR and the .308 bolt gun just perfect, but the grendel has given me some issues that I have been at the point in getting rid of it.

        Trouble shooting:

I have a RCBS digital scale and dispenser, I have tested the weight on the dispensed load on my Dillon digital thingy and it is accurate, I am using CCI 450 magnum primers.

        What am I doing wrong?

Found in AR15.com archives. Not sure what the COALs were. We used to have the reloading section broken down into hunting, target-shooting, barrel lengths, and projectile weights on the old forum. I wish we had that back really.

I've been up as high as 31 grains of TAC behind the 108 Lapua, which I thought was excessively hot, but it was recommended to me by someone in the industry, albeit 1.3 grains over Bill's listed maximum. I had a hard time breaking the 2710 fps mark with this load from my 22 inch tube. I have successfully tried Ramshot X-Term and have been using 29.6 grains of this behind the 108 Lapua and getting in the 2730 - 40 fps range. I've used this load for 1000 yds shooting. 29.1 grains of TAC behind the 120 gr Berger has also been accurate and achieves 2530 fps out of my gun.

I've been working up loads using Lapua Brass, 123gr A-Max, Wolf Small Rifle Magnum Primers, and AR-Comp. i have a accuracy node at 24.5grs with a COAL of 2.275. Will need to chrono.

Novice query: does anyone have any experience reloading using Hornady Superformance powder in the Grendel? I am just starting out but I was thinking of trying to work up some loads with the new 123SSTs. I am concerned that there may be some reason (that I don't know) why this powder is not used in AR-15s? Sorry to be so ignorant but I appreciate the help.

It's too slow for the best velocities with the Grendel weight bullets. Someone tried it, and if I remember correctly, it was running the 123's at about 2200-2300, which is very close to what you would get with Varget.

Reloading data from the old site

Its always a smart practice to start with a load that is 10 under maximum and to work up to maximum slowly checking for signs of excessive pressure. What is safe in one gun may not be safe in another. Also its rare to find that the maximum load is the most accurate load for your gun. I always try to take pleasure from my shooting and gettin beat to death by max loads aint what I call fun. Ill peruse my many reloading volumes and see if I cant find something for you.
