Thread: Negative Posting, what is the purpose?

  1. #1

Negative Posting, what is the purpose?

In the last few years there has been a preponderance of negative post about AA, the Grendel and myriads of other issues warning of the impending doom of the cartridge and entire program.

To the dismay of many, nothing like that has occurred, it has only grown.

I know this because I see how many WCI brakes are being made for the Grendel, the numbers continue to rise.

Keep in mind that if someone is buying a 9/16x24 or 3/4x28 6.5mm brake it is FOR a GRENDEL not some other weapon, it also represents a full rifle built.

Nobody in their right mind would be buying a WCI if they did not have a working rifle.

So what is the purpose of playing like there is no future for this round?

This is a simple idea, there are those people and organizations that wish they had done this and are now poo flinging in order to try and diminish the success of this cartridge, they have achieved the opposite.

Once potential customers see the tone and false statements made, they are smart enough to understand that is a defacto endorsement or this cartridge, rifle and manufacturer.

It is similar to have Obamacles decree that something is good for us, we can count on the opposite.

I have never been one to be dishonest much to the astonishment of others who read wild stories being told by a few individuals and one particular manufacturer.

That being said what would we make of the stories told by Old Joe at arfcom when he was saying I do not make brakes for anything other than a 1/2x28tpi thread and other falsities?

We would all have to be dumb as a box of rocks to buy into that crap.

I hope this sheds a bit of light on this matter, sunlight after all is the best disinfectant for scum.

BTW does anyone know of a company that will go out of their way to help like Bill does, even when he did not build nor sell that item to a customer?

Does anyone know of someone that can actually say the WCI does not work as advertised and reported by Stan Christ, Soldiers Sytems, USN SPECWAR, and a host of others that rely on them for combat, competition and hunting?

There is far too much dishonesty being treated as fact when we should never just accept something at face value when it is as preposterous as these claims.

There really are a lot of stupid people in the world. I have been and will be one from time to time. However, I too wonder about all the Grendel hate I see from time to time. I have had my doubts about the cartridge going more mainstream, but my doubts have been eased quite a bit by major ammo manufacturers producing components for it. Every now and then I see posts about how the Grendel has died because SAAMI has dropped it or because Satern has stopped making barrels or because Sabre went under or because some frog tooted on a log. It has gotten down right dumb.

I am reluctant to step in this discussion, but as a recent newcomer to this caliber, with no particular allegiances and reading some of the negativity posts here and elsewhere, I suspect the recent uptick may have some of it's roots in the loss of hit counts on some sites since this one has returned. Some sites are funded wholly, or in part by advertising, who's rates are driven by hits counters. I go to some of those sites and the view new posts filter reveals only a handful of new posts per week, where in February there were perhaps hundreds. There may be a sense of abandonment in there. Just an unbiased observation that will no doubt get me added to someone's hate list.

Some indivuals on “another” forum seem to have a personal vendetta towards Bill A. in particular and Alexander Arms business practices in general. They are jumping on any tidbits they can find re the 6.5G and posting negative comments on multiple forums.

A few of these posts seem to now include 6.5G forum members in general… of which some of the people spewing the hate formerly were or still are. It’s all rather childish IMHO.

All one has to do is go to beyond 556 and look at the posts of the members there. A posting about satern bbl from couple of days ago turns in to mud slinging at BA from AA and dumb people from 6.5G forum.

TX4guns is Arne Brenan if I understand correctly - tip of the hat for the development contribution, postings - different case...

I have always been a fan of the the ability of the people to make up their own mind, but it seems that few shady characters are hard at work to discredit this site.

Maybe we should make a sticky note with the description of all the shills and name tags, at least it would be known where are they coming from in the postings.

    Gents,

The thing that I like about the Grendel is that I basically have common 7.62 NATO and some .308 match ballistics out of a much smaller cartridge and carbine/rifle, with significantly less recoil, in a common AR15 platform that is very easy to change barrels on, obtain parts for, and work on without any real gunsmithing skills.

What that means for those of us who would have been formerly committed to buying AR10's in .308 is that we can now have pretty much the same performance in a lighter and more economical package. For those that are just getting into AR's, it offers those ballistics right off the bat for people that want a larger caliber for whatever reason, whether it be hunting, target-shooting, etc.

What I have appreciated about this forum before it was maliciously destroyed and now, is that it is a haven for well-behaved, thoughtful information-exchange between respectful adults who tend to be quite knowledgeable, free of personal attacks. There is a general sense of helping each other out, versus people sitting at home looking to ridicule or flame others from the seemingly-safe confines of their keyboard.

For those that have a vested interest in another cartridge, I respect the time, research, and trials they have gone through to create what they have, in a competitive market. At the end of the day, people will choose what they choose and try to be happy with it. I have who knows how many calibers in my inventory to worry about, so each has its place. I see no reason to attempt to malign or ridicule the hard work of others, and I would like to think that folks in the firearms community would look out for each other more.

It's just like some .308 fanboy hating on my 6.5s. I told him my Grendel could match his .308 ballistically and my 6.5-284 Norma would smoke it. He tried to argue that fact with me. Haters.

    Infidel,

I am 100% certain that TX4guns is not Arne Brennan, who quite openly goes by TX65 on every forum I am aware of. So far as I can tell, its the only name he uses.

People from Texas are rightfully proud of their heritage, and many use some form of the state in their screen names.

Mr. Brennan has been nothing but respectful to me and everyone else I am aware of online, nor have I seen him criticize AA, the Grendel, nor anything associated with it. I understand he and AA had some business disagreements in the past, but those are none of our concern.
