Ramshot X-Terminator

The local reloading shop had some Ramshot Terminator in stock so i picked up a pound to experiment with. Anyone have some load data to share? A first look it appears to take less powder to get the job done than say AA2520. Would the less powder per load requirement make it a candidate for 129gr and 140gr pills? When you compare loads it looks like it takes 2 grains less per load compared to AA2520.

It's a faster-burning powder, if you look at a burn rate chart. It's well-suited to lightweight/short bullets, not long/heavy projectiles. You would hit pressures too soon with the long/heavier pills before getting any decent velocity.

On the old forum, guys liked it for predator loads pushing the lightweight bullets under 100gr.

I'll use it for 100gr Amax and 100gr Nosler BT and Vmax then.

I think those are good projectiles for it. I'm not sure how well it drives the gas system. Looking forward to your results. Just work the load up per Ramshot's posted start loads.

I've shot a lot of 100 grain Btips with it with great success accuracy wise. Good velocity.

Its a little too fast for anything over 107-110 in my experience.

+1 on it being a little too fast for the heavier pills. In the .223 world, where my experience with X-terminator is, it is suitable for 55 gr and less. Heavier than that, Ramshot recommends TAC.

Right, and their load data recommends 2230 for 6.5G pills 120 gr or less, much the same as the OP's X-Terminator data shows.

X term is best for under 100 gr. pills.
Yup 2230 & x-term are same as-since.
I did a much of my Gmx testing in -2010-w/ x term.
Then came -8208-cfe 223-.

If all you have is a certain powder , it can be fine it can be utilized .
Blade used it -xterm for his recently sold 45-70-for the last 2 yrs.

I did some loading with it and got 1.5" groups with it so not too impressed. Tried it again later with lighter bullets, 107gr SMK & 108gr Lapua, and got multiple sub 1" groups. I have used it for years in .223 and love Ramshot powders in general. I have some 100gr AMAXs that I want to use it with but work has been keeping really busy.

I ended up with 28.8 x-term, over a 100TTSX , and my 95 gr. GMX. Both were half inch groups @ 100y.

I have 8 lbs of Ramshot X-Terminator....... loaded some .223 loads with it already but, will have to try it out with some 6.5 Grendel.
I got it for a steal of a price so I need to experiment with it and see if I can get some good recipes.
