  • Bullet for 1000+ yard shooting.

What bullet make and weight is being used to shoot at 1000+ yards.
I don't here to much about bullets over 123 GR being shot, SO what is the
    preferred pill for 1000+ yards.

The Hornday 140gr BTHP at a MV of 2200fps is sonic to 1020 yards. At 10mph wind it's a 14.8 mil elevation and 3.0 mil windage adjustment. The Nosler 123gr BTHPs at a 2450fps MV is sonic to 1050 yards. At 10mph wind it's a 13.5 mil elevation and a 3.2 mil windage adjustment. The heavier ones should work just as well.

123gr A-MAX factory load surprised me at 1200yds from a 16" Grendel, but I'm at higher elevation-4400ft that day. That ammunition is supersonic for me out to 1318yds if I believe the G1 drag model, and it actually worked out for me at 1200yds for some reason. I had accurate temperature and baro pressure readings I guess.

I've found, with real data collected from my 16" rifle (100-800m), that the G7 drag model is closer to 'reality' for the 123SST. Would probably be similar for the A-MAX
