    Ridgerider,

    Both, K&M Arms and Kel-Tec have announced 6.5mm Grendel chamberings for their respective M17S and RDB, M43 models. Also, Desert Tech is considering chambering the 6.5mm Grendel in their 2015 MDR.

    For pics, Google:
    Images for K&M Arms 6.5 Grendel Bullpup;
    Images for Kel-Tec 6.5 Grendel Bullpup;
    Images for Desert Tech MDR 6.5 Grendel Bullpup.

      I today sent the following E-mail Message to Mark Anderton, Domestic Sales, Desert Tech:

      "RE: Desert Tech MDR Bullpup calibers

      "Dear Mr. Anderton:

      "Back in January, I sent a letter-appeal to Desert Tech President & CEO, Nick Young, making the case for including the can-do 6.5mm Grendel, among the calibers for the upcoming Desert Tech MDR Bullpup. And, I shared my comments with the Bullpup Forum, at that time (http://bullpupforum.com/index.php?to...47791#msg47791).

      "In today's shooting world, with escalating ammo prices, it's nice to have a low-cost alternative to one's favorite factory-loaded, brass-case cartridge. Enter: The new, low-cost 6.5mm Grendel Steel-Case ammo! (http://www.shopalexanderarms.com/6_5...mmunition.html).

      "I submit, that at $0.36 per round, the new 6.5mm Grendel Steel-Case ammo is a winner, and yet another reason to include this 21st Century "Micro Dynamic Cartridge," among the calibers for the new Desert Tech MDR.

      "Sincerely,

      "CC: Bullpup Forum; 6.5 Grendel Forum."

          I wish that were true. It seems like only a few weeks ago it was New Year's Day.

          Suddenly it's, "Ohmygod, Christmas is almost here!"

              Enough already with the "Picture this blah-blah caliber bullpup in 6.5 Grendel!" posts.

              I'm quite capable of imagining a Grendel bullpup.

              Let's see one actually chambered in 6.5 Grrrrrr...

                I share the frustration. . . . "Oh, we've had some encouraging statements from a few Bullpup manufacturers [K&M Arms, Kel-Tec, Desert Tech] promising a 6.5mm Grendel chambering, at some point in the future, but, only, after they've satisfied the demands for mid-20th Century calibers. The sorry fact: there's not one 6.5mm Grendel Bullpup planned for release, on the near horizon/by the end of 2014!" --- http://bullpupforum.com/index.php?to...67303#msg67303

                It's like going to a dance party, in 21st Century America, where the majority of the crowd wants to dance to the old favorites from the last Century --- and the band complies.

                  With the release of the Super Sabra, Timney and Shooting Sight TAV-D after market triggers the 6.5 Grendel chambered Tavor SAR sounds very appealing. I could see me shooting some of my Wolf steel case ammo in a 6.5 Grendel Tavor. I got to test the Super Sabra trigger at the Bullpup shoot and it changes the game for the Tavor when it come to shooting at longer range. One Tavor has been converted to 300 BLK with an after market barrel which will soon be on the market. With all the support the Tavor has received I could see after market Tavor barrels/bolts for the 6.5 Grendel and 6.8 SPC.

                    VASCAR2,

                    Converting the Tavor SAR to the .300 AAC BLK is one thing, but, I don't think the Tavor Bolt head has enough "meat" for opening-up to accept the much larger 6.5mm Grendel case rim:

                      You may be right, I agree the 300 Blackout is a very simple conversion since the bolt is the same as 223/5.56. I assumed a new bolt and barrel extension/barrel would have to be designed and mated to the long stroke operating system of the Tavor.
                      From a business perspective I have no idea if a 6.5 Grendel Tavor conversion is financially feasible. Strange I always want things that are not available but I would buy a 6.5 Grendel Tavor before buying a 9 MM Tavor.

                        Roger that. I have zero interest in a 9mm Tavor, and I question the sense behind it. I've already been thinking about a 6.5 Grendel Tavor for a while now, once I saw the trigger upgrades they are doing on the Tavor. I am also thinking about handguard options for it to extend it out a little, and use a 20" barrel.
