Tell me about the barrel extension. Is it tumbled or Nickel Boron coated? Either way I really like the finish on my AR740 barrel extension. Saves the brass for sure!

Adam, are y'all doing 304 or 311 profiles (16" barrels) in Grendel anymore?

I got a 319 ordered today. The fluted version was in stock and I was told it would ship today.
            Thanks to Lilja.

              We have 2 304's left and 1 304 w/o muzzle threads. 304's and 311's are discontinued

Damn... if I would have known that, I would have chosen the 304 to replace my 304 instead of the 318.... oh well, it's scheduled for delivery tomorrow

No 16" Grendel? :? What drove that?

It's a heartbreaker. I chose fluted 311 for the group buy. I was unable to replace it with the same when I returned it over the bad reamer incident. It was so sweet; beefy, light and short. I chose a 319 to replace it, but I really wanted a 16" barrel.

Adam since y'all are doing away with 16" Grendel barrels, would y'all consider offering the 311 profile scaled down to an 11.5" barrel and 7" twist? With the soon to be released steel cased ammo I'm interested in a sbr Grendel.

We would need a minimum of 20 barrels to do an SBR order, and the appropriate paperwork.

Paperwork? There are no restrictions on barrels that I know of. I thought it was only on the lower.

                              Here read this: http://www.riflebarrels.com/articles...br_barrels.htm

You are correct, I misread. Anyone can own a sub-16" barrel, but the moment it becomes a functioning rifle you need to have the stamp. So as far as we are concerned it would be just like buying a 24" barrel from us.

What should a guy expect for accuracy from the AR 740 vs 319? Any noticeable difference? I'm torn between shorter and stiffer or longer and skinnier. ...That didn't sound right. ....
