The bullets we tested were all designed to expand: NBT, SST, TTSX, and Partition. Not to further highjack this thread, but the OP was looking at the new monolithic bullet, Barnes LRX. Monoliths have historically required higher velocities (~2000 fps) relative to cup and core bullets to sufficiently open up. But the newer ones from Barnes, Hornady and Lapua are designed to open up at lower velocities, circa 1600 fps, similar to cup and core bullets.

Because the Grendel OAL is limited to mag length, these very long monoliths take up a lot of case capacity. Therefore, muzzle velocities are limited, which in turn limits the effective range. A lower velocity limit of 1600 fps offers some exciting options now for Grendelers to load large monoliths - 120 to 140 gr.
