Shooting Times data.jpg
Shooting Times has an excellent article with loading data featuring AR Comp.
Bullet Charge Wt. Vel. fps COL
Sierra 120 gn Pro hunter 27.0 gn 2478 2.216"
Hndy 123 SST 27.0 gn 2325 2.240"
Primers were all Fed 205. 18" barrel
I have had good luck with Alliant powders in my other rifles. Hope this helps .
Wiley Here is a link to an excellent post by one of our members. http://www.65grendel.com/forum/showt...highlight=hoot I have tried the 123 A-Max with 27 gr of AR Comp and found it to be very accurate in my rifle.
The article I am referring to is in the Sept. 2014 issue, but poli that is a good article as well. Any time one can expand the information base is a good thing. This article reviews AA new hunter version. It wouldn't do for me to win the lottery. My wife would probably kill me for adding to the collection.
Oops... sorry, jumped the gun - it's not the same load data and article... the table Rugerfan posted contains more info and the article I posted is dated March 2014.
I shot some 123 A-maxs today loaded to 2.240 COL over 27.7 grains AR-comp in my short throated liberty barrel that I fire-lapped a little (2.265 to the lands) into half inch 5 shot groups and 3 shot groups in the .2's and .3's with rem 7 1/2 primers.
AR-comp is the most accurate powder I've tried in 6.5Grendel and 264LBC using the Hornady 123's.
They shot in the .6's to .7's before the fire-lapping.
