For the Brownell's and AR-Stoner barrels, as long as they chamber and safely fire factory ammo, at an accuracy standard that people are happy with, they only help the cartridge out.
Someone does need to get the message to the manufacturer that a smaller gas port is needed on the 18" MLGS. That will need to be tamed with an adjustable gas block or the RCA adjustable gas key, and buffer weight.
With this configuration, an 18" MLGS with adjustable gas block and rifle RE tube + rifle buffer (5.2oz.) and rifle recoil spring, the guns still run a high cyclic rate with the gas turned almost completely down.
