Congrats, there's nothing like elk hunting, it's always tough. Went on my first archery elk hunt this last season, six days of hiking up and down 2000' ridges in the Ochocos. And there's nothing like elk back straps fresh outta the animal and right on the grill.

We have elk here in Michigan no mountains to deal with... I need to put in for a license since they don't give out many!

Good luck on Mi elk license don't think ill see one in my lifetime either , but one can hope
