    Buffer and spring question

    For a 6.5 grendel build does a standard rifle buffer/spring combo work or do you need to run something that is heavier or lighter?

    Rifle buffer works fine in rifles out to 24". In carbines, heavier buffers have been used with great effect. Standard springs are fine, but I like Tubb flat springs and others really like the JP captured spring.

      It really depends on your gas system length and gas port diameter, but an AR15 rifle buffer and spring are one of the better options when looking at reliability across a wide range of rifle and carbine configurations.

      I've seen the rifle buffer/spring combo in a rifle extension tube work reliably on:

      * 24" RLGS
      * 20" RLGS
      * 18" MLGS with too large of port, but an adjustable gas block choked almost all the way closed
