    called to arms

    https://www.giveforward.com/fundrais...s-medical-fund.

There is a tradition in the Marines that we leave no one behind. There is a young Marine named jake mcwhorter that lives on my road. With his permission I am calling all Marines, vetsand and civilians. This young man has came down with a mysterious illness that has left him in a wheelchair. Doctor's have no ideas. The VA isn't doing anything. So lets raise the funds to send him to see a specialist. The link above.

Does he know the VA will pay for going to a private doctor if he meets certain limits. One is the distance to the VA is too far and another is not getting scheduled properly. Make sure he checks the rules and he may be eligible for private care at their expense (because of all of the phony record keeping that they got caught with.)

He is getting the good old fashioned run-a-round. The VA says it's not service related. That is why they are doing a fund raiser.

I don't know the facts about service connection, but if it is a close call, make sure he asks his Congressman to intervene.

more run around from the VA, these men risk it all to keep our freedoms from those abroad while those stateside try and take them, only to come home and have back turned on them by those who should have open arms trying to help at every corner. I cant donate yet but will come friday/saturday when i get paid.

this makes me even madder because my GF dad got dishonorably discharged and called his JAG brother to get it changed to other then honorable so he can still reap the VA benefits and yet this young man who actually needs the help of the VA is turned away....

I haven't talked to him in a couple of days. I do know that he had a doctor appointment on Monday. I'll find out tomorrow.

                      MX:

If the ailment is not recorded in your health records on leaving the service, the VA can not rate it.

He may get a doctor to say he has a problem but if he can not prove the problem is service connected, the VA will not accept it.

He will most likely have to get his congressman involved.

As for discharges, normally Other than Honerable discharges are automatically upgraded to Honorable after a period of time. Dishonorable on the other hand -- are due to courts martial an a JAG officer can't get them undone without another courts martial or review board of some sort. Something tells me if anything, it was an 'Other Than Honorable' that was upgraded after a period of time.

thanks for clarification on the VA, hopefully the congressman can help.

as far as the discharge, it was dishonorable, he brags about it to every how his full bird jag colonel at the pentagon got it changed for him... he said his brother had to pull alot of strings for it, the reason he got the boot was a failed drug screening. It might have been that his brother was able to fight to have it changed from Dishonorable to other then at the time which is probably more feasble then his story of him changing it. Hes 100% BS ive noticed so its tought to see what the true story is, ive called him out more time then you can imagine for his war "stories".

ETA: just curious why does this soldier not get VA medical when her dad gets full VA benefits?
