I have used the Hornady but prefer the Grip-n-pull

If you pull your own bullets, the GRIP-N-PULL is the #1 piece of reloading equipment you need. The patented GRIP-N-PULL makes collets and inertia pullers history! Tired of impact pullers? Gripnpull is cleaner, faster, quieter, and easier.

i seen that, looks like it would work slick on the first few caliber holes closest to pivot point. but has got to be a bear to hold tight enough from mid point to handle

I use the Hornaday puller with good results one thing have have to watch for though is not turning the handle to far as you cam the handle over you can resize your bullet. Beats the hell out of the hammer style.

Hornady cam lock works well especially for pulling a lot. A couple minutes of set up. Even pulls heavily crimped bullets. The only issue I've had is breaking of the collet pulling .45 ACP. That is close to the max so the collet wall gets thin and over camming causes the collet to break. Hornady sent me a new collet, but I was SOL with that caliber for a couple of days.

I have both. The hornady camming piston got peened on the top from camming the handle down too hard. Locked up the whole thing and made getting the innerds unlocked and out pretty hard.

RCBS works pretty good and all the insides come out pretty easy for maintenance.

I think Johnny's reloading bench did a review on the grip-n-pull. He has a great site with lot's of Grendel content.

I have used the grip-n-pull on bullets of .172, .224, .264 and .308. Not a problem, have another I have used on .358 bullets. One thing about the smaller bullets being out toward the hands like they are it does take a good grip, but generally with this type puller the smaller bullet is wasier to pull since there is less surface area to have tension on

                      CA90:

I own both. I prefer the RCBS because to me it is easier to use. The Hornady is sensitive to adjustment and hard to 'feel' where the bullet ends and the neck begins. The RCBS one I push the cartridge up into it and have a easier time feeling where the neck starts so I am less likely to ruin a neck when pulling bullets. Also, it is easier to feel how much tension you are putting on the bullet with the RCBS tool.

I also own a old RCBS kinetic puller. Very handy tool for a couple of rounds.

RCBS and a older Kinetic puller. Like the RCBS better because of ease of use, it does leave a slight ring mark if there is to much crimp. If using the kinetic puller be sure to have a piece of 4X6 wood to beat on!

Never used the RCBS but have the Hornady and found it very simple to setup and adjust. Works great, as advertised. Would happily buy another one again if this one was ever lost or damaged.

I do have an RCBS kinetic puller I use when I only need to pull a few. And it also works great, as advertised.

Started with a kinetic and roger on the 4x6... moved to the rcbs collet style and it's working great, so no use on the kinetic any more. I don't have any crimps and haven't put any rings on my bullets from pulling them. Easy to find the top of the case and tighten down, then shazzamm!
