I just found a few hundred Speer 6.5 cal 120 gr Gold Dot bullets . . Who is shooting these off in a 6.5 Grendel and Out of a Howa Mini rifle ? Performance ? Target Accuracy ? Game Killing Performance ? Thxs !

Actually my experience is they shot as well as any 120 grain projectile I have tried. They kill just as good also. It's the only projectile I would shot out of my grendel's if I had some.

I load them to about 2400 fps using three different powders (aa2520, 8208, X-Term) with all the same POI. My goto powder is the aa2520.

May I ask where you found them?

My rifle has a 20" barrel not a Howa, may work for you if your Howa is a 20" model.

2.270, cci450, hornady/starline case, ar-comp at 28.6 has been the money load for me with that bullet through 10+ ar15 grendels and 3 bolt grendels 2 cz and a howa.

Also where did you find them? I'm in a bad need for more 120 gold dots.

I loaded up the GOLD Dot 120 Grers today with CFE223 and CCI 450 sparkers . Now we need a bit cooler weather and I will get to the range again .

Very accurate bullets in both my Grendels.

Benchmark, aa2200, ar Comp, h335 & mr2000 all have provided excellent accuracy.

One word of warning. In the Howa you can seat long, gain powder cap and push to over 2600 fps. DO NOT HUNT BIG GAME!! Back the velocity to 2500fps range and enjoy. They bullet is purpose built for high 2300 to about 2500. This is straight from Speer tech!!

I nearly lost best buck of my life because of this. Nearly perfect shot. In hi should have come out in pocket behind off shoulder. NO rib hit going in, NO BULLET OUT!!! Only marks inside rib cage. Bullet blew up inside. ZERO BLOOD TRAIL ON SNOW!!!! Cause I was in tree and deer was on flat below me 65/70 yards away angle was steep. But as I said should have been perfect BUT no exit.

I have taken two more deer backing velocity down to 2475-2500 @ muzzle in Howa and this bullet has been flawless! Good exits and dead deer!!

Yes I really like leverevolution in the Grendel. Seems to give the highest velocity and is very accurate in my rif.e.
