    Jody,

    I suggest you go with an adjustable gas block for your build. Makes life easier if you are using various handloads. Also have the barrel builder mill a depression in the barrel to index the block to the barrel with the set screw. Then AR Stoner barrel I got had that done. The Krieger barrel did not.

    I like the SYRAC ORDNANCE gas block from Brownells as it uses a detent pin to lock the adjustment screw for the gas flow rather than having to loctite it. Almost twice as expensive as some of them but worth it IMHO. It also comes in clamp or set screw type. I prefer set screw if the barrel has the indexing feature. Even if it losened a bit, it would still be aligned.

    Also you should consider getting one of the thicker walled uppers that can handle the weight of a longer target barrel and a heavier target style stock. Heaviest of all is the Hi-Rider and Low-Rider from DPMS. They don't have the bolt assist feature or the ejection port cover.
