On .22 central they do an informal competition.
Link a target that can be printed, rules of engagement usually, one sighter then 5 round group, at x distance. Members post there results for bragging rights/entrance into club. May need classes scope power, barrel length, action type.
Picture needs date, rifle, load, group
Any interest in this?

Ok we'll call this Challenge #1

NOTE: you have to download the target and open as pdf. file select "fit" on the sizing option before printing. so it fits on standard sheet of paper.
Shoot at 100 yards,... 5 rounds one at each circle. Take as many sighters as you want on seperate target.
Scoring: 10 points for taking out white bullseye
5 points for breaking the white bullseye but not taking it completely out
one point for breaking the black circle
zero points if don't touch any black
The white bullseye measured .260 " on the sample target I printed after fitting to standard sheet so this would be very challenging to shoot a perfect 50 at 100 yards.
On weapon list barrel brand and length, trigger, and scope brand and power range:
Example: odin works 18", larue MBt2, vortex 4-16X42
Also list load: weither commercial or reload list bullet brand/model and grain, powder, and charge
Example: Sierra 120 pro hunter, Tac, 27grains. or Hornady Black 123 eldm
shoot as many targets as you like, but can only enter one a month per firearm,...so the guys with multiple guns can enter each firearm once a month.
To enter fill out target with information with your score, take photo and upload to this thread. Suggestion install a resizing app on your smart phone, makes it easy to take pic, resize and post to this forum.
Remember this is for fun, please be honest and follow the quidelines so everyone is shooting the same target at the same distance
We can break out sub categories if we get enough entries, pistol sbr under 8 power, semi auto, bolt etc. And well keep it limited to 6.5 grendels for now. Lets see what all those BCA barrels and group buy barrels can do!

I say one shot per target.
If you want a challenge, then make it one to really humble - Center is cold bore - first 5 rounds fired that day.
I took Roo Roo Becky and Lilly out last weekend. Started out awesome. Becky started .25 left of center at 100, then went 3 for 3 on steel (4" @ 260, 6" @ 475, 9" @ 735). First 4 rounds fired and was ready to pack up and go home. Lilly however was .5 mil high at 475 and 735. Really need to verify my 500 velocity and adjust my BC for 800 - though one usually reduces BC, not increase.

Shooting the challenge is pretty eye opening, I figured 15 to 20 points would be typical. Never have shot competivally shooting 5 perfect shots is much more difficult then shooting a small 3 shot group.

Try doing it "Up, Down"
Fire first shot. Get up. Get back down in your shooting position, then take your second shot. Rinse and repeat.
I did a 25 shot string (5 - 5 round groups, up and down 25 times, different dot each time). You will find out where your target fixation is. Mine is low right for weak zone for a .8 moa. Best group was a .4 ragged hole.

Don’t give up on me. Had intended to shoot this Saturday but had a 28 nosler I built and was not shooting as expected so I spent all my time on it. I will be back at range either Thursday or Friday and the Grendel will be shot first

Not giving up, just voicing my experience so far. And giving props to the guys who do it regularly.
I believe my equipment is capable, just need to focus more and get my shot sequence firmed up. I did outshoot my brother so it was still a good day.

This is a pretty cool idea. Having all my gear packed from a move is killing me. Renovation on the new place starts today and I can't wait to get reorganized. Glad to see folks participating.
