Another reason to thank President Trump - Mhan7 - 12-01-2020 To be called a troll on such a basis, is to be made keenly aware that either a group, or individuals, are seeking to be insulated from any dissenting opinions. So are we up to having discussions, or are we not? Another reason to thank President Trump - 41bear - 12-01-2020 Mhan7 Wrote:It was decided long ago, that as a collective, we believe that government has a responsibility to protect and care for its citizens. We all love to spout off about our rights - but very few of us are as adamant about our responsibilities. Those responsibilities aren't just to Jesus and the NRA. You want something better for your country? Educate yourself. Make sure that others get the same chance. Because if you don't, your political opponents will. You don't know me and I don't know you but when anyone says/writes that they "Hate" anything and then spouts off about personal responsibility including treatment of their fellow man I then have to question that person's investment in such things. As for seeing the world, and paying for it on your own dime, my dime was in the 5+ years served though I did miss India, Russia and China. Thus my dime was my responsibility to this great country I was born in and clearly way more valuable to me, and the country, than any monetary output by a non military citizen on a pleasure trip. CDC stated that 94% of all deaths associated with COVID-19 were a result of an average of 2.6 other comorbidity factors like heart disease, cancer, diabetes, kidney disease, liver disease, and high blood pressure. COVID-19 Primary, not only cause of 94% of deaths Quote:September 1, 2020 -- About 94% of people who have died from COVID-19 in the U.S. also had other contributing conditions listed on their death certificates, according to new data released by the CDC. On average, patients records had 2.6 additional conditions. Only 6% of deaths listed COVID-19 as the only cause. Flu season kills 20,000-80,000 people a season just in the US alone. Which Presidents over the history of our Nation are responsible for all of the Influenza deaths? I just listened to a Canadian M.D. and pathologist with decades of experience specifically to this field, who actually works for a company that makes COVID-19 diagnostic testing kits, and he called the media and public health recommendation responses to COVID-19 a hoax on the basis that you cant stop the spread of airborne viruses, and shutting everything down makes no sense. Even though he benefits financially from selling kits, his recommendation was to stop testing and feeding into the panic. He listed the unintended economic and health consequences including huge increases in suicides, financial failure, depression, and unrest as byproducts of the draconian measures being taken by Canadian municipalities and territories as a much worse condition than the virus itself, which has a very low hospitalization rate and very high survivability rate. Presstitutes keep blasting this death toll without showing it in context of the USs population of over 331.8 million, or next to seasonal flu mortality rates. The whole purpose is to instill fear in people and then hang it around the neck of the President for political purposes, nothing more. The claim that a President is responsible for all of these deaths, when applied to every other president across the world and looking at communicable diseases doesnt hold up to basic logic and critical thinking skills. This is the problem with bias. It leads you into accepting every negative statement you hear about a person, then doubling down on those claims without applying any of the pillars of the intellectual standards (which arent taught in school for a reason), then becoming even more emotionally-welded to the baseless claims and lashing out at other people who call the argument into question. What does this have to do with the 2A and OPs post by the way? Thus my dime was my responsibility to this great country I was born in and clearly way more valuable to me, and the country, than any monetary output by a non military citizen on a pleasure trip. You were right - we don't know each other. But me "hating" something, by default, has no correlation to my level of investment. Aim higher. Conversely, the things we hate the most are often the things that we've invested the most in, that occupied far too much of our life. You can question whatever you like. Although if you were really asking, and not just making that statement, those questions would produce something fruitful. If we're really being honest, you're just saying your piece. The difference with myself - and I don't speak for you or others, but I strongly suspect, based on experience - is that I could look past something about you that I personally loathe, and accept it as part of your person or character. I could even still be friends with a person whom I vehemently disagree with. ("Christians" have a parallel concept - "hate the sin, love the sinner") It's all about how one conducts themselves. If you make it a point, every time I'm around you, to pester me with what's important to you, while allowing me no quarter, then we're not going to be good. Disagree with me all day, ok, so long as we're still having a conversation, and you haven't just decided that you're always right. Being able to operate in mixed company is the hallmark of *truly* intelligent people, and that's where I prefer to operate. Having open door conversations, are also the way to find truth and workable solutions on complex subjects - when such a thing is important to people. And believe me, I understand that to most people it's not. Most of us just want things the same, in perpetuity, regardless of how little sense it may make, in the face of other, unavoidable changes. It's the basic recipe for conflict. I may not be a "patriot" - in the sense that I don't have a blind loyalty, and I refuse to agree out of a false sense of responsibility - but I do my part in the machine that makes up the collective. We're not all meant to be soldiers, nor doctors, nor businessmen, nor ditch diggers. You served in the military. Great. That doesn't mean that you have the whole picture. I don't have it either. My point with travel, was that I want to understand my world as it is - not how I'm told to believe that it is. As Americans, who live inside broad borders, we are EXTREMELY myopic. I've been to tens of countries on 4 continents. You wear your uniform as a source of pride, I wear my personal accomplishments as a sense of pride. My #1 accomplishment - I am SELF MADE, having been born into poor white trash, in the most central parts of a vast continent. So you'll excuse me when I hold people to a high standard. I'm not here to get into any arguments with people about what certain things mean to them. If your military service meant that much to you, that's a settled matter, right there. We're all on a different path in life. If that's your purpose, and your realization, so be it. Mine isn't. And mine is, obviously, far more important to ME. So with that being said, no incongruent comparisons will be forthcoming. Trump was a dunce, whose defiance, undoubtedly enabled a lot of morons. However... Let's get real, son. The power to deal with the response was ALWAYS with the states. Why do we constantly scream to the federal government, to handle a thing that is immediately within our own power? The truth is, the US isn't even in the top ten for COVID related deaths, per capita. NOT EVEN IN THE TOP TEN. Or at least, so says John Hopkins, who arguably have some of the best stats on record. https://coronavirus.jhu.edu/data/mortality Was "The Donald's" behavior and public conduct reprehensible? Sure. But let's not confuse the issues. Covid is not, was not, a hoax. However, since it was so highly politicized, and came to us first through the mouths of politicians, not doctors - we have to live with the fallout. Is there proof that it wouldn't have claimed the same numbers? Nope. Even in the most leftist states, where adherence to recommendations are as fanatical as the defiance in the more right leaning areas, there is not clear advantage in case count. I had residences in both Washington State and Florida. Washington - fanatical. Florida - defiant. Numbers advantage - Florida. That's a huge WTF for me. The idea of just having a conversation to bash Trump is ludicrous to me. We all know that the vast majority of America votes on party line, and they'll craft whatever narrative they have to, to justify their personal investment. We all know that it gets even worse, when we isolate demographics. So what's the point? No minds are changed. We all know what the issues with The Donald are/were. You're just being obtuse, at this point. Another reason to thank President Trump - TomSawyerNW - 12-01-2020 I love these statements, co-manufactured by the DNC and bigtime propaganda media such as CNN and CBS, and played hourly for months like it was the new #1 on the top 40 chart. Trump first recognized Covid as being serious in Jan. 2020 when he shut down Chinese travel to slow/stop incoming infections. Democrats screamed racism, and Nancy danced openly in the streets of San Francisco, denouncing the seriousness of this deadly virus. Schumer and Schiff took time off their impeachment show to further portray Trump as an irrational xenophobe. NJ, NY, MA, and CT Democrat governors and their political machinery told Trump to butt out when he tried to help, and today, these 3-4 states lead the nation in Covid deaths/capita. The 265,000 deaths would be several times larger had the Democrat governors acted responsibly. And thanks to the Obama/Biden comedy hour, federal pandemic supplies were drained, and failed to protect Americans as intended. There has never been a national crisis such hurricanes, tornadoes, or a pandemic that was not labeled to be the fault of the reigning Republican president. Fortunately for us, Trump's impact on the judicial system will last decades.LucasJ Wrote:We can thank trump for killing 265,000 Americans with the trump virus. Under Trumps leadership, HHS has authorized an average of 1000 generic drugs per year, despite the pharmaceutical industry doing everything in its power to resist and push 24/7/365 media narrative "Orange man bad" on their presstitute brothel networks, including Fox. Drug prices and profits increased dramatically under ACA, and big Pharma laughed all the way to the bank. ![]() Along comes Trump, surprised them with actually getting elected in 2016, and started hitting big pharma in their pocket like nobody would have every dared to do in any previous WH. Congressrats who benefit from insider trading with access to approved drug trials in advance, as well as massive campaign bundling by big Pharma and the other corporate cronyism practitioners (including at least 21 Republican Senators), put a target on Trump immediately. This election season is more about this reality than many other topics, but those who control the media will never allow this conversation because it exposes Oz. He really isnt hiding, just blowing smoke and mirrors to entertain the masses with Hollywood-looking presstitute anchors distracting everyone with BS stories, fanning the flames of hatred and division so that people wont harmonize on issues most of us agree on, like border protection (used to be bipartisan support-no action), consumer drug pricing (populace and most practitioners agree, Congressrats blow hot air, while receiving millions in contributions from big P), National Defense, education, etc. Cant have any unity among the populace though, because you cant control a populace that unifies. I am not going to entertain the second part. It is my *personal opinion* that you have WAY too much invested in the cult of personality, and probably aren't open to any arguments that I may present, if I were actually the type to defend the character of those whom I do not personally know. I do not approach the subject of a man's character, from the perspective of what he possesses. And to be right honest... What a person has, how they got it, or what it takes for them to maintain it, isn't something that most of us are privy to. Don't argue what you don't know. And if what you know is only what you perceive as valuable, from your own limited perspective, more of the same. Just out of curiosity... If these are your criteria... How do you feel about, say... Jeff Bezos? Another reason to thank President Trump - LRRPF52 - 12-01-2020 My argument about Trumps accomplishments arent from a cult of personality, but from a dispassionate business and leadership assessment, bankruptcies included. The material things are markers of performance at certain levels, not items to be envied or worshipped. You cant be a dunce as a private entrepreneur and leader and maintain operation of these types of assets for so many years and things not fall apart. The 2 things dont operate in the same world. You see dunces who benefit from nepotism with an elite lifestyle, but they are never able to maintain and grow it like Trump has. This is why I mentioned all the people he has employed and given opportunities to. You cant be a billionaire alone. There have to be multiple teams of A players growing that business, with employment positions that didnt exist before the leader set out on his vision. For someone to be able to manage that kind of a business empire takes a set of skills that previous few people have. Were talking about a tiny fraction of a fraction of a percent of the population. Trumps public image is more managed and crafted by him and his ability to brand. In private, he is described more as a very amicable, friendly guy, with moments of shrewd business decisions and unusual calling-out of people to destabilize situations for his benefit. He specializes in throwing people off-base when negotiating, and attacking people that attack him. The Larry King interview where he talks about telling someone hes negotiating with that they have bad breath, then asking, Has ever told them that? is an example of him in shark mode, in a playing field of sharks. He comes into a negotiation from a position of dominance that isnt expected, then gets into the persons head by making them question their support base and followers. Why hasnt anyone told me I have rank breath? Do they fear me? Do they not respect me in a basic human condition of personal hygiene that I never realized was a problem? It isnt him being an a**, its him playing in a pool of sharks. He enjoys that. It isnt a character flaw or reprehensible behavior from a business perspective to me. If you go around like all the sheep and people who have been conditioned to just play along, you will never achieve anything. Because of Trumps personal vision just as an entrepreneur, he has created a market for tens of thousands of people by being a better shark most of the time. Visionaries make things happen for the benefit of others. He could have thought small and ridden his fathers coattails, but he had a much larger vision than that in business. As he saw politicians making terrible decisions for the Nation as a rule, especially when it came to trade, economics, and financial matters, he was urged on to do something about it, realizing that if he didnt, much of what we have enjoyed would erode dramatically after multiple White Houses committing our resources to endless foreign campaigns with net negatives on investment measured in trillions, while Congressmen laugh to the bank on short-term self interests. Its very rare to find people in the billionaire club who havent managed profit-losing ventures with strategic bankruptcy for that entity. Most people seem to be unaware of this, since people know basically nothing about money other than what theyre told to do (be a debt slave), so it isnt surprising. But anyone who has been in business for over a decade and studies the markets knows this. The A players dont really own" much. They control financial and business entities that they lease or rent from. Youll find most billionaires lease or rent their properties and vehicles from legal entities that they control, because of the convoluted tax laws in the US and most nations. A lot of the foreign businessmen place their assets in overseas holdings due to the confiscatory tax laws in most places. But Bezos is someone Im still studying. I really dislike Amazons destructive trends in competing against their merchant partners, who they then buy-out after running them into the ground with price-cutting and slave labor manufacturing. Bezos vision for the future is very dystopian and ominous. He sees people as serfs that need to be managed by people like himself, with grandiose ideas of space colonization as a result of the global environmentalist messaging (which is profoundly unscientific). Jeff Bezos Elysium vision of humanity Relevant to the right to keep and bear arms and even free speech, Jeff Bezos is quite an enemy to both of these basic human rights, and very much in-alignment with global agendas of a prison-like world where people are managed like slaves of elites like him. Another reason to thank President Trump - Mhan7 - 12-01-2020 So how can you be entirely sure that he isn't just a narcissist, that reads well between the lines? Mind you, I'm ASKING. Since you have become a de facto spokesperson for the Trump brand, this should be well within your wheelhouse. Also... I'm curious to know how you, as a moderator, would feel if somebody brought their alpha "shark-ism" into the forum. By your logic, you'd necessarily be obligated to tolerate them - even if it brought your entire platform into discord. I strive for logical continuity, so I have to understand why some ideas are tolerated at a high level, but not at a low level. Also... How do we feel about Jeff Bezos? Jeff wants to go to Mars. His company touts social justice, has raised wages, seeks to hire the most talented technical people, and pays really well. He's as polarizing as Donald Trump. But what it ignores, is the fact that somebody DOES have to pay for it, and as there is no such thing as a "good" bankruptcy. The bigger the "entrepreneur", the bigger the string of bankruptcies tends to be. Is that OK? There are substantial costs to the nation. There are litigation costs, personal costs, and tangential costs. The only people that ever win, are the "entrepreneur" and the bankruptcy attorneys. Is it reality? Yes. Is it acceptable, or something to be nonchalant about? Hell no. I've got a family business that's been continuously in operation since the 1860's. Never once filed bankruptcy. The more successful ones seem to balance that trait with humility as they get older. Trumps narcissistic image seems to be more of a branding strategy to me. Im not a self-appointed Trump brand spokesperson, just making observations from my perspective, which is as fallible as any humans. I think Trump harnesses what a lot of people think and believe, but have been conditioned to not say because....reasons. He has a peculiar insight into that from decades of interacting with wide samples of people, as he prefers mingling with laborers, managers, and the people that do the nuts and bolts of a project. Combined with his access to actual ratings on largely-viewed networks over many years, he knows the electorate better than any previous Presidential candidate. There was a senior Secret Service agent assigned to candidate and former Governor Ronald Reagan in 1980 who asked him one day, Do you really think you can pull this off? Reagan looked at him with an overly-confident grin and immediately spit back, Of course. Im the only candidate that knows what he looks like from the all the camera angles. This was of course a reference to his over 100 films and TV shows he had acted in. ![]() Trump takes that do a different level because not only does he know what his appearance looks like to others, he knows from massive amounts of entertainment and financial industry data covering decades how people respond to his brand, message, and product. I like learning lessons from others and filtering out the traits that I dislike, while absorbing the ones I do like in my own life. Speaking of which, time to go out and pass on my passion for shooting with my family today. Hope everyone is having a great day and being thankful for the freedoms we still enjoy. Another reason to thank President Trump - Mhan7 - 12-01-2020 LRRPF52 Wrote:Most leaders that actually accomplish something tend to have a streak of narcissism. Agreed, with a period at the end of the sentence. This equally applies to leaders who are ideologically opposed. Narcissists are master manipulators, and as such, are able to tap into every human emotion. Fear, love, anger, contentment, etc. The best of them know how to run the gamut, and not just hone in on any one, specifically. If I were a leader, I'd identify my core constituent, appease them, while building either a concensus with the opposition, or completely running concensus off the rails. Whatever the horde thought they were clamoring for, at the time. LRRPF52 Wrote:I think Trump harnesses what a lot of people think and believe, but have been conditioned to not say because....reasons. Again, agreed, but from a different perspective. In America, we tend to vote less for the candidate that we actually want, and more against the candidate that we don't. As someone with no affiliation, I sat back and observed this man tapping into the collective defiance. He did it well. He stepped up, and projected an air of strength - real or perceived - to a whole lot of pissed off people. Even if he was lying through his teeth, he made angry people believe, by manipulating those emotions. In America, we run back and forth, between perception of control by the weak/disaffected, to the unstable/aggressive. (read: perception) We all recognize this as POLARIZATION. LRRPF52 Wrote:There was a senior Secret Service agent assigned to candidate and former Governor Ronald Reagan in 1980 who asked him one day, Do you really think you can pull this off? Reagan looked at him with an overly-confident grin and immediately spit back, Of course. Im the only candidate that knows what he looks like from the all the camera angles. This was of course a reference to his over 100 films and TV shows he had acted in. There's no comparing Trump to Reagan. Even if you disagreed with his politics, if you couldn't get along with Reagan, you have a personality disorder. He was affable, sensible, and 10 times the statesman. LRRPF52 Wrote:Trump takes that do a different level because not only does he know what his appearance looks like to others, he knows from massive amounts of entertainment and financial industry data covering decades how people respond to his brand, message, and product. The only credit that I give the man, is that he doesn't give a shit what others think. This is my own key trait. I don't care what you think of me - I'm going to keep being me, and I'll own it, even if it hurts. I can relate in that sense - but I still think a critical personality flaw is in the way for The Donald. Mild narcissism is probably a leadership trait, but severe narcissism is a handicap. Its always been about a friendly environment where people can share their experiences and not be subjected to the typical personal attacks and juvenile behavior found on most other forums, which is what attracted me to it. I logged in one day and saw a new title under my name, which I didnt ask for nor turn down. It isnt my forum, but Im happy to continue the good treatment and respect that I was shown when I first came here in 2009. Understood. I have not latched onto anything that brands me. My passion in life, is in forcing those who are able, to ask fundamental questions about themselves. Who they think they are, what their vision of the present world is, etc, etc. Typically, when people are intelligent enough to keep a conversation going for awhile, without it devolving into a slugfest, they end up appreciating others as actual human beings (it's really a lost art). The same people who they wouldn't give the time of day, were they limited to soundbites. You were able to employ accuracy, relevance, clarity, and logic while also using brevity-something everyone can see that I struggle with. I'm not here to test your BS meter. There's a real person behind this keyboard, who thinks real thoughts, and is hasn't made up their mind that their journey in life has concluded, and this is as good as it gets. Further, I'm the same person, all the time. I believe in recognizing what's sensible, and what's not, CONTEXTUALLY. I'm happy to be true to myself - but be warned that it's sure to annoy you, at some point.
