Yep, the factory barrel was fine for hunting, but after 3-4 rounds it would start to heat up and I'd get shot dispersion that was unacceptable. It was even worse with a suppressor attached.
I'm very happy with the barrel-nut system, as I now have a switch-barrel rifle. I could have Crown Ridge make me a 6mm ARC barrel or a lightweight 16" Grendel barrel and swap among all my barrels at home in less than 10 minutes.

$385 for the chambered barrel and barrel nut. Extra profiling for my Surefire suppressor mount was $30.

Thanks. They are a little bit less than preferred barrel blanks. What barrel blank did they use? They don't have that info on their site.

Pretty sure it is a Criterion blank.

When I contacted Crown Ridge in the past x-caliber was the brand of blanks they were mostly dealing with.

You're right - I stand corrected.
The Sendero profile he had in stock is a 5R rifled 1:8 twist.

I ordered the same mag extensions and played just a bit with them. It'll work fine but not sure it's worth fighting to get 10 in. Will likely be a great 8-9 rounder. If we want a 10rnd or more we just need to wait for MTM to make us 10 rounders or get a Ruger. That's that as I see it. I'm taking care of my dad in his last days right now and won't be playing around with it for some time.
