I used these items for QD sling swivels. You don't have the stud sticking out the side of the stock. You do need to buy a half inch drill bit & a 9/16-18UNF-2B tap to install the Grovtec sockets.

Being a boomer, I have a couple dozen slings with the quick attach swivels and only one sling with the push button type. Hence my decision to adapt a couple older studs on my RAR. But I can see the Grovtec ones would be great for a side mounted sling. Thanks for those links.
