Here are the rest of the pics,
I do not believe it is cracked however i am not impressed with the the quality of the fit and finish. This is an $80 toolcraft BCG and bolt so you get what you pay for.
I do plan on getting the group buy bolt (a few of them) just not in the budget for this round.
Have fun picking it apart, that's kinda why i took the pics(areas that stood out as not quit up to snuff), sorry about the quality of the pics using my phone as camera and poor lighting.

Looks like an $80 bolt to me. Probably last the lifetime of the gun if you don't blow it up with hot rounds.
The staking looks a bit lame and there's two things you can do about that;
[INDENT]1. Buy a Brownells staking jig ($70).
2. Use glue.[/INDENT]
I wouldn't go smacking around on that hardened steel with a hammer and punch. If you go the staking tool you'll want to build a few carriers to justify the cost. You can also be certain the key has a gasket seal. Internet chat is that not many manufacturers take the trouble to seal their keys.
A stripped carrier is $63 on Brownells.
The Key is $16
The two screws are $6.
+ some gasket glue.
So you end up assembling DPMS-type carriers for $85 each.
The other way to keep those screws from coming loose is to torque-up the bolts to 56inlbs and use strong thread locker. Youngs don't stake their carrier-key-screws and use Permatex27010 gel as a gasket seal and thread locker.

I purchased though huckleberry.com. Yes my biggest concern is the staking, I hit the bolt with some rem oil and a brush bolt face and other areas look a lot better ill post pics once I get them
transered from my phone. My justification for the staking tool is but honey I need to maintain my fire arm.<ยท<

I would call Toolcraft and see what they say. Lifetime warranty. If you have legitimate concerns, they should replace it before something fails.

There have been a couple threads on AR-15.com with pictures of toolcraft bolt staking look just like yours. Seems to be the current norm for TC. No reports of the carrier key coming lose on Toolcraft bcg’s.

There have also been reports of Toolcraft copies. Toolcraft has a stamp or engraving but you have to call them to verify it.

That was my first thought. Small retailer I never heard of. Got to keep the Chinese knockoff factories churning. If the company that makes 9,000 BCGs a week and is THE major OEM supplier is putting out BCGs like that, we're all in deep doo doo.

All right,
So here are the areas that when cleaned revealed that they were just fine. Now the only engravings I have found are on the bolt MPI and GII. If this is a knock off then I will live with it for now.

MUCH better. Now it looks like it should. Do you think that was fuzz on the first bolt face pic? I thought it looked like the metal or finish was cracked. Scarred me for a breath.

Likewise! I've got my 7.62x39 BCG (AKA "Type 1 Grendel") from JoeBob showing up tomorrow provided the USPS does its job. I'm a tad anxious. But if it doesn't look up to snuff, I can always send it back since these ladies have told me I can't use it until further notice:

For the bolt face I thought it was scaling left over from the heat treat process at first but after cleaning I have to think it was just not cleaned after it was "tested" lubed and set out the door. The thing was dripping when I pulled it out of its packaging. The other areas like between the extractor and bolt body which looked like oxidation, or where the gas key and carrier meet looking like a toolingdefect went away with a quite scrub. Next time ill clean before I post. But I had just gotten them and was so excited.😱

Load your E-Lander mags to capacity and let them set. The springs are very stiff when new. You can manually unload them a couple of times which helps the wear in process. I needed to apply downward pressure on the second round in the mag with a rigid plastc letter opener to unload the top round. My E-Lander mags functioned new with a few rounds in them but just easier to load and unload after they wear in.

Thank you for the heads up. I usually cycle the cartridges manually using the rifle, facing a safe direction of course.

This is one of those things that all of us have done, but wonder if that's ever a good option. There is no safe direction to point a rifle at home, and since we know the necessity of a "safe direction" in the first place, then we already know the potential consequences. Why chance that at home? Manually loading/unloading a mag outside the weapon is safe, with only inconvenience as the side effect. Small price to pay for keeping the neighbors out of my life...

Agreed. I appreciate the advice Vascar2 gave and that process allowed me to notice something I might have over looked if I had followed my business as usual route. The Third cartridge down starboard side is completely free floating and rattling around greatest movement is forward and aft, side to side has movement. The follower is not sitting completely vertical, it canters to port side. I need to break it down and see if its seated correctly as i can see the spring outside of the follower on the high side. If that doesn't fix it I will be cracking a beer and reading post on modifying the mags, something I have never done or had to do so yes frustrating but satisfying at the same time. Oh and I picked up my die set today I went with Hornady because I have had good experiences with their products and I could walk into the store and get them.
