Yes cooler and cleaner. I ditched DI long time ago. All my AR15 556's and 300 AAC (sig mcx) are piston

Good deal. I loathe cleaning weapons. Perhaps I need to look stronger at piston equipment, but I’m afraid in this market I’d lose my butt on selling DI tools.

Had a chance to get down the range again to put another 200 rds thru it without any issue. If you build one, I recommend replacing the stock op rod spring with this https://www.brownells.com/rifle-parts/receiver-parts/magazine-parts/magazine-release-parts/ar-15-mag-catch-spring-3-pak-sku078000083-41422-46211.aspx?rrec=true instead (stock spring is short and weak)
