What is the lightest weight most compact can that will work with a 12 inch grendel sbr?

Tbac ultra 5

I use the ultra 7 because it was like 10db less and only a couple ounces more though.

I had asked silencer shop what they suggested and they said some Q trash panda thing was the lightest weight and shortest. Usable on a 12 inch grendel.

I can live with a lil less performance but it has to be the lightest and shortest can. Trying to do up a super light weight tree stand gun.

Ultra 5 will likely be quieter at the shooters ear than the ultra 7. Thread over at arf recently from TBAC showing 5 metered about 4db(don't quote me on that #) quieter at the ear than the 9. I'd expect the 7 to be in between the two but still quieter.... AND, shorter and lighter for your application.

Are you useing that ultra 5 on a 12 inch grendel?

I went looked it up and what I read on it says it's designed for the 300 slowout.

I use the ultra 7 on a 12".

Lrrpf52 uses the ultra 5 on his 12". He has multiple pictures and posts about it on here.

If your going for ultra lite i have a brigand arms 9" handguard for sale on here. Smile i recommend your barrel have carbine length gas to use it and a low profile gas block.

Yea I didn't go to their website. Just had read what was on the silencer shop web page and going off what they had told me would be the best for my setup.

I will probably be getting that ultra 5 after what I have been told.

Ultra 5 is louder at the muzzle, quieter at shooter's ear.

It doesn't sound like the normal muzzle report on a 12" Grendel that I'm used to with TBAC cans on rifle barrels, which is more like an air hose being disconnected.

On the 12" Grendel, it takes away most of the muzzle blast, but is about what you'd expect from a 5" .30 cal can on a 12" barrel.

FWIW, the ultra's are pure TI and relatively low T rated. So for a hunting or general range shooting gun it should be great. Just be aware cross-using it on a 10.5" 5.56 and doing rapids drills, and you'll pretty much destroy it.

Curious to see if there are any other particular brands folks are using beyond the Ultra's?

I don't own anything 223/556 and sold all my 30 cal and bigger stuff.

It's 6mm or 6.5mm for me.

Anyway I need suggestions for a can. Looks like it's going to be a no go on the tbac cans. The only one I can find instock anywhere is a 6.5 ultra9 and just ain't going to work on my 12.5 grendel. Would be fine on my 16 and my cz varmint but not the pistol/soon to be sbr grendel.

Was looking at a sandman-k tonight. How well would that work on a 12.5 grendel?

I didn't read if you wanted a direct thread or a mount option. Mounts are nice to switch between hosts quickly but the mounts themselves are 4 ish ounces each. The suppressor manuf. don't usually include the mount in the weight of the suppressor.

That completely depends on your subjective definition of "work." What "works" for my hunting buddy is way too loud for me. So keep that in mind as you look at the responses.

I am satisfied with my DeadAir Sandman Ti on my 12" Ballistic Advantage barrel with SLR AGB. It's quiet enough to shoot an entire magazine at a sounder of hogs with no ear pro and no lasting hearing damage (that I can tell).
