No down time, no accidents, everything running like butter and competent employees and full shifts. Running 24/7/31 it probably could knock out a couple million rounds of common hunting and defensive ammo a month.
With every other plant running wide open for months now producing ammo and not keeping up at all from the start. The Remington plant is basically a drop in the bucket when applied too the back order amount now and the increased need from all the new gun owners.
It will take way longer before there ammo being produced in that plant has a marketed effect in supply.
I'm going with 1 to 1 1/2 years before we see them starting to make a dent in the demand and lack of suppply.

Yeh. Figure if theres 5 million new shooters then that means an extra 50- 100,000,000 rounds needed just to get them in the game....

I'm sure it's way more then that.
If I remember what I read correctly. There was over 4 million new guns check in the nics system for Jan 2021 alone. That's more new gun purchases in one month then ever record in one month before.
And the year 2020 each month was like near record gun purchases.
If I heard the guy from federal correctly. He said in that vid, that they had produced more hunting ammo last year then they had produced in all the years combined in their history.
It's clear at this point, if you dont have what you need. Your going to be in a very bad bind soon.

It is tough to estimate the amount of ammo needed by all of the new guns. Many people are buying their second or tenth AR15 and won't be buying a couple of thousand rounds for each new gun that uses the same ammo they already have. Also, a lot of the new gun owners are just setting up for home defense, not SHTF. Many of them can't imagine needing more than a few boxes of ammo, so they won't be the largest buyers. The people determined to pick up several thousands of rounds will be.

Agree totally. I think a bunch of people bought a firearm out of fear more than anything else. I would say a number will sell the firearm and the rest will buy a box or two of ammo, shoot twenty or thirty rounds and lock both away.

Reading that article, they said that they had one year's worth of orders valued at $1 billion. Even if you value each round of ammunition at 50 cents, which is way high, that would mean they expect to make 2 billion rounds of ammo in a year. Obviously not all at that plant, but that is a lot of ammo.
