Sending well wishes out in advance, off to cook turkeys up north tomorrow, for 2 families of ours. One is deep fried, one cooked on a new Traeger smoke -wood pellet grill. Should be fun.
Hope everyone has a nice few days off . Chow down, and enjoy a nap....

A very Happy Thanksgiving to all. After 40 plus years of cooking Turkeys and Hams, along with untold lbs. of Cornbread dressing, giblet gravy, pies, cakes and side dishes with the Cafeteria chain I worked for, Smith and Sons Foods. I DON"T cook'em I just eat'em.
Ya'll have a great day and be safe out there.

We have a LOT to be thankful for in spite of the world-shaking woes voiced by many in the political, media, and religious spectrums.
Please say prayers or otherwise think about what we have to be thankful for.
Last, eat enough to be comfortably sated but no so much that you're in danger of passing out!

After cooking on the Traeger grill- I have given up on my gas-charcoal combo unit. ---- It's going to the recycle center.
This Pellet cooking system is the bomb. Same amount of smoke upon food as charcoal, actually less---- You can dial it down to SMOKE for a few minutes, then dial back in the heat . It's awesome!
Smoke mode is the best billowing effect you could only imagine from a Pellet grill, then you can set the temp mode - so easy to cook like a pro.
And it's not over the top smoke flavor - wow !
