When did CZ change their bedding?

When I installed the new Timney in my CZ Varmint Grendel I was surprised to see that they'd changed their bedding system, adding a V-block and corresponding cuts in the receiver. The recoil lug was glass bedded as well. Considering the fussing I had to do with my standard weight 527 Grendel to get it bedded properly (pillars, glass, etc) this was a welcome relief. Other than torquing the screws to the recommended in/lb levels when reassembling, I have done nothing to the bedding and it shoots my handloads into bug-hole groups. I'm happy.~Riuma

I believe only the varmint model is like that.

My old 204 Varmint could have used that treatment! Too bad they don't make it universal throughout the line.~Riuma

I have older 527 varmints in .223, they have aluminum pillars.And both are great shooters. With 52 g SMK they both do sub 1” 5 shot groups @ 200yrds.Unfortunately, they can’t shoot a damn w/heavier bullets.
