Good afternoon all. New to the forum, and still learning the Grendel. Im from the patron state of shooting stuff, so of course I can shoot about 70yd in my backyard.
I bought a 6.5 BCA upper last November, but to make an incredibly long and frustrating story short, I received it in March with little time to shoot before weather and work heated up. Its a 20 fluted HB. I built a PSA stealth lower, put in an aftermarket trigger, and have really enjoyed shooting it so far
So much, in fact, that I traded into a Howa mini in 6.5 a few months later, threw together some quick loads, and was instantly impressed by how accurate and fun it was to shoot. Im hooked on the little cartridge now.
Anywho, I coach/teach youth shooting sports, have 3 kids who are all into hunting (well, the 6 year old is excited to start this year), and I pride myself in introducing kids to shooting and hunting safely. Last season I was able to assist in getting 2 kids outside of the family on their first deer last season, one young adult outside the family on his first buck, my middle child (younger daughter) on her first 2 bucks, and my oldest daughter on two deer. Quite a season, but it shows why I like light recoiling, yet effective, rifles.
