I carry wherever I go. At this time, I have no intention of being anywhere near liberal centers. If I absolutely had to, situational awareness would be razor sharp. I wouldn't under any circumstance intentionally put myself in a compromised position, just isn't worth it.
If I could not retreat from a bad situation and am physically assaulted? Best to be tried by 12, than carried by 6. Litigation is costly. I think we should be prepared to help financially, those who make the decision to defend themselves and others when left no other choice.

This report shows the guy in New Mexico being hit with the skate board just before he exercised his 2A right to defend himself. I doubt it will go well for him in a Liberal state. Lemonaid youre correct in your judgement.
Best bet really is to not put yourself in that type situation. Hard to believe these activists think that they can beat someone with a skateboard and not expect the victim to defend themselves.

A quote from our sheriff here in Polk county Florida.
The people of Polk County like guns, they have guns, I encourage them to own guns, and theyre going to be inside their homes tonight with their guns loaded, Judd said, according to NBC affiliate WFLA-TV. And if you try to break into their homes tonight and try to steal, to set fires, Im highly recommending they blow you back out of the house with their guns.
He's is a no-nonsense law and order type " if you point a gun at my deputies we will shoot you, probably a lot"

He definitely made some mistakes that will cost him prison time.He exchanged words with a mob of crazed liberals. He pushed that girl to the ground. And even though the end of the video looks like self-defense, theyre going to say he provoked the violence. Ive always been smart enough to keep my mouth shut when Im out numbered. Sometimes you have to bite your tongue and hightail it out of there.

I still think hes going away for a long time. He assaulted three women. He was a counter protesters. If they prove that he was the first instigator, they will charge him with the shooting again.Hes caught in the liberal system now.

Being an Albuquerque resident, I tend to believe this as well. We have way too many liberals in the power seats around here. The shooter was a would be politician himself who I know a little bit about. He's not the brightest bulb in your string of Christmas tree lights. He'll be railroaded for sure but he brought it on himself.
The lawyers representing the feller Baca shot filed a tort claims notice with the city, the county & the police dept. They claim their client's civil rights were violated because there were no police present to protect the protesters. That was true. There wasn't a cop to be seen anywhere near there. They were just gonna let the protesters do what ever they wanted. They were even slow showing up after the shooting was called into 911. That's due to the liberals running the show...

Perhaps he should have stated he was making a citizens arrest before he engaged.
When Can a Private Citizen Arrest Someone?
A person can arrest someone that they reasonably suspect of committing a felony, even if the felony didn't occur in the presence of the individual making the arrest. As long as a felony was actually committed and the individual making the arrest knew of the crime, a reasonable suspicion about the identity of the perpetrator will justify their arrest. However, if the crime did not in fact happen, the person making the arrest could become civilly and criminally liable.
In general, people can't use a citizen's arrest for misdemeanors unless the misdemeanor involves a breach of the peace. Even in these circumstances, however, individuals can only make arrests when they've personally witnessed the criminal behavior and the breach has just occurred or there's a strong likelihood that the breach will continue. https://criminal.findlaw.com/criminal-pr...rrest.html

Question When can a citizen arrest someone?
Answer never
Holding someone at gunpoint or whatever till police arrive is false imprisonment, and you will be the one facing time.
I grew up in New York City area, mid 70s to mid 80s. If you were caught stealing in a store, they would lock you up in the store basement till the cops got there. The liberals ended all that stuff. Criminals have more rights than citizens nowadays. And if you use a gun to defend yourself, the liberals are going to try to use that against you too.

This story seem to me will likely occur with more frequency in the near future. https://www.foxnews.com/us/st-louis-coup...ers-report
Now imagine you are the home owners in the story and add to the mix that some of the "protesters" start throwing bricks and bottles at you as they have at the police. What would you do? Suppose you have a magazine of rubber bullets or bean bag rounds handy, would you use them first?
Is it better to gradually escalate on the use of force continuum or stop it right then with max firepower? Warning shots?
Opinions welcome.

Well I live in a free state, so as soon as the first brick would be thrown at my person, loved one are my property, I have the legal right to use deadly force and will do so.

They both could use some training. When you watch the video it appears fingers are on triggers most or all of the time. Still, as happens tens of thousands of times a year in the country, simply presenting the firearm seemed to work.

The whole thing to me was a foolish show.In front of their house that close to the mob. If the mob decided to attack, how many people would they actually have gotten before being taken down? And its questionable that those two had any idea on how to use a weapon.
Personally I wouldve been up on that upstairs porch, maybe even out of sight, not saying a word. Finger on the trigger, dozens of loaded mags, waiting for the mob to throw the first brick or bottle at my home. And then it would be on like donkey Kong.!
And regardless of my opinion on how they may have handled it. The couples display of force was perfectly legal. That was private property. A deed restricted community. And that mob had absolutely no business to be there.

My only concern is the November 2020 election. And right now, it looks very depressing.

Thanks a crappy situation. Guess they need stronger gates....if I could afford to live in a gated community....I wouldn't. What's the point of having money like that if you live so close to something you want a gate to keep out.

Been thinking about the viral video making the rounds of a couple defending their mansion with an AR15 and a pistol.
I want to know, legally speaking, when would the use of deadly force have been justified and upheld by a jury of their peers in that situation?
If someone is trying to break down my front door and I'm in the house, I'm shooting the first person that comes through: "Your Honor, I thought the mob was going to lynch me and I feared for my life."
If the mob is passing by on the street and yelling taunts, I'm not even outside, engaging them. Might seem like a tough guy to go out with my gun, but rather than de-escalate, it could escalate. (One report said the mob was simply passing by on the street on their way to the mayor's house, or something. But how would a homeowner know that?)
If the mob burns my car or throws rocks to break my house windows, I hold my fire. Insurance will cover.
If the mob throws Molotov cocktails at my house, I open fire: "Your Honor, I thought the mob was going to burn down my house around me and lynch me if I exited and I feared for my life."
Complicated scenario and the homeowner's response is dictated by the mob's actions.
Comments? Different perspective? Not trying to talk tough, trying to be realistic according to present legal realities.

I'm not a lawyer so don't have a definitive answer. But seems like a good break-down.
The real problem is two-fold:
On the one hand these mobs have a history of being planned and agitated from the side or rear, so no one knows how far they will go or how exactly they will act.
On the other hand if there is some beginning of law-breaking (again as in #1, not knowing how far it will progress) such that you call 911 or the police, by and large now they will NOT come unless there is a "life threatening situation" (whatever that means, as interpreted by some lib-mayor) .....
Leaving us once again with the old statement, now modified, that when seconds count, the police are HOURS away.
Dilemma.

The mob was not on a public street or sidewalk, it was a private gated community, trespassing had already occurred well before they approached the house. It didn't rise to the level where deadly force was needed but any reasonable person would be alarmed and could see how quickly it could have gone that way. For the most part I agree with the scenarios you listed.
