Shaw Barrels

Anyone use Shaw barrels on their ARs? Never heard of this company until I got emails from American Rifleman advertising Shaw products... two days in a row. They have Grendel barrels & say 6mm ARC barrels are coming soon.

Shaw was either the very first or one of the first to produce Grendel barrels for Alexander. Shaw makes hunting barrels and their performance is on par with any hunting barrel you would get out of a middle of the road out of the box hunting rifle.

I had one on an Overwatch and it worked fine but is nothing I would buy again. At that time Shaw and a top end company I can't remember right now were the only ones making barrels for the Grendel. Shaw primarily.

E. R. Shaw barrels is a long-established barrel maker, although more common on the OEM side of things, where they will make barrels under contract and other companies will put their label on them.

My Double Star/J&T Distributing barrel is supposedly manufactured by Shaw but there are no obvious markings to indicate the manufacturer. My DS/J&T barrel is a good shooting barrel which is over gassed (large gas port). This was my first 6.5 Grendel AR-15 I bought in 2010 and my barrel is chrome moly (CMV). I recently added a Rubber City Armory adjustable gas Key and finally fixed the gas issue.

I have one in 7.62x39 that I got from Model 1 Sales years ago and it’s been a keeper.
