Bummer! Should have connected the dots when they discontinued the 550’s last year. Kept hearing the machinery use for the control round feed actions was worn out and needed replacing/upgrading. It was only a matter of time, the 527’s were next! It’s a shame control round feed actions are apparently just getting too expensive to manufacture anymore!

It was only a matter of time, the 527’s were next! It’s a shame the Mauser actions are apparently just getting too expensive to manufacture anymore!

And the CZ600 bottom “metal”, trigger guard and mags look like plastic now too. Another sign of the times! Ain’t like it use to be!

Looks like the Cz 600 series is easier to change barrels. With the availability of the 7.62x39 you could do a barrel swap to 6.5 Grendel or 6 ARC but adds to the cost.

Trouble is, it is not a simple barrel swap. The barrel has to be indexed and the locking lugs machined in the barrel. It might be simpler than it sounds.

It is simple, but you will have to buy the barrels all ready set up by CZ. This very like the SIG SHR970 barrel swap system, easy to swap barrels but the only ones you could get were made by SIG.
