Still using 7.62 NATO. I am a bit surprised they would go through this without considering a 6.5 caliber such as the Creedmoor or Lapua given they are staying with a 7.62 length receiver.
The M-110's I have experience with were the first issued and they were not real reliable. Since then I am sure there have been numerous fixes for things that never should have been allowed in the first place.
Soon this Hk will push the longer and heavier M-110 out the door. Smaller and lighter usually renders longer and heavier extinct when it comes to military equipment.
Now what someone needs to do is reduce the size and weight of those optics by half while retaining the same capabilities.
