Why are suppressors $$$?

I spoke to two different manufacturers of suppressors at the Big 3 East media event in Daytona Beach Florida last call. Both companies stated if the HPA past their business costs would be cut by more than half. The cost of u.s. suppressors will go down and continue to go down as more companies come into the market plus you won't have to be paying the $200 tax stamp.

Eventually, yes the above statement is true (note the highlighted). How long that would take, I am guessing around 2 years for the market to settle, the wheat from the chaff as far as the quality manufacturers that surface.

No way in hell that all of them are going to be on par with Surefire/Silencerco/ThunderBeast/Dead Air...We are definitely going to be seeing a lot of junk hit the market.
