Ok Horde, it isn't Grendel. I know, feel free to delete if deemed problematic. I do not intend to veer the board off the Grendel Train rails.
My Dad has a 30-40 Krag that we've been trying to get up and running for a while. Mainly due to the lack of brass and other complications from dealing with a 100 year old firearm, we've been snapping up any old cartridges we find at a reasonable price for the last several years.
Last gun show, a guy had a baggie with some rounds in it, I gave him $10 for the 19 rounds, and he didn't know anything about them.
I want to know what I've found. I've never seen this projectile before, and can't seem to find info or pics of it online either. To be fair, Google is frustratingly filtering searches now containing the horrible words "bullet, projectile, load", or any caliber declaration. See for yourself. Maybe it's just me, and my weak google-fu, but the goal posts are being moved on us...
Anyway here are a few pics of the bullet. No, I have not pulled one yet. From all guesses, it looks to be in the 220 grain family. I'm guessing an old Remington Silver tip, or similar. Anyone recognize these?

Anyone that could guide me to a source of info would be a big help. If these are rare, we don't want to shoot them or destroy them. We'll add them to the collection. We discovered that some of this stuff can be rather valuable! And dad's a bit finicky about cool old gun items, which in the long run is good for me.
