2055 lithium aluminum upper with a proof research carbon 20 inch barrel and 16.7" 2099 lithium aluminum handguard (both pieces are made by VSeven weapon systems). Lithium Aluminum is twice as strong as 6061 and more rigid than 7075 (slightly stronger than 7075 as well) yet weighs 9% less than 6061. Only downside is cost...total price of those 3 parts is about 1400 bucks and I haven't even bought the titanium bolt carrier yet...my wallet hurts. and don't get me started on the lower
