Point #2 If you actually talk to people instead listening to the media you find only a small % of Democrats are crazy left liberals. Half of the country is probably not trying to destroy everything you hold dear. Some even own guns. (unfortunately we only have two choices of who to vote for creating an all or nothing dynamic)
I'm sorry if stating facts sounds like a pathetic child, but I do tend to blame those responsible. It has not been the Republican platform trying to disarm me. I have just as easily directed my criticism towards conservatives when needed. It is very presumptuous of you to think I never talk to people from the left, I have and do. Sorry to burst your bubble, "but it is usually the left minded people that I try to engage with in a civil discussion" that invariably always resorts to personal attacks, name calling and anger. My wife has a first cousin who completely cut her off because she shoots competitively. Not very opened minded now is it? I also have liberal friends from France who I instructed in firearm safety and introduced to competitive shooting. We have remained close friends even though we are opposites politically. When half the country supports or votes to put into power people who support gun bans, property and wealth confiscation, eradication of national borders, scientific reality of genders and due process, then they are trying to destroy everything I hold dear. Yes we unfortunately have only two choices but the choice is not that hard if one doesn't believe in socialism, AKA communism.
