It always helps to have a friend help you but you should know what your expecting beforehand in order to question stuff like this at the time for yourself , otherwise youll just be chasing your tail...
LaRue can give you the expected before and after dB range - you should be within +\- 3 dB , if not refine your testing methods until you get close to the manufacture (experts) range
