FLS, your question "Do you think 1000 rounds Per caliber is enough to get you through the ammo shortage?Especially when you don’t know how long the shortage will last? " is a good one to think about.
In your experience what number of rounds per caliber did you come up with?

I would love to have 1000 rounds for every firearm I own. But ,that would mean Over 200,000 rounds maybe. I kind of lost track of how many guns I own.LOL!
At this time, you know that you’re gonna have to conserve ammunition.I’m only shooting once or twice a week. I probably have 2000 rounds for each caliber I own,not weapon. Mostly reloads and the ammo is divided and marked for specific weapons.But I also have 1000’s of bullets,8lb powder containers and other reloading supplies.
What bothers me most is, in a real state of emergency, where do you go?I live on 1 acre with just the fruit trees, my home is in the middle and bordering propertiies are at least 50 yrds away.My storage building is also in the far corner. My home is more defendable than most. But I still wouldn’t want to be caught in it in a fire fight.
I’d probably prefer to pack the truck with supplies, several weapons and lots of ammo. But I will still need room for my honey and the pets.Camping in the woods would be a far better place to be. Because those whom you would be fighting against will be out of place there.And most of us fellas on this site are hunters,so we could easily survive in the woods.I do well, because I chose my mate well. She is a Midwest country girl and she can live in the woods.
