if the scope you pick has at least 20 moa in both directions vertically from center, you should be fine. that little 4X FXII leupold has 40 moa in both directions from center. and it only weighs 8 or 9 oz.
so you can keep the rail if you wish if your scope has say +/- 25 MOA from center you should be good to go. of course if you want to go with a different mount setup that's up to you too. enjoy the new mini Howa.
in my opinion the mini howa barreled action is the best of the mini bolt guns in 6.5 Grendel. the bottom "metal" however leaves a LOT to be desired. of course that's just my opinion.
