Sounds totally like a political scenario to me. I don't know the accused nor do I have a dog in that (state) fight... but they are still innocent until proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt. Regardless of anyone's personal opinions of them as persons.
And it also sounds like at least some in the State Prosecutorial ranks in Mo do believe the state's castle doctrine applies.
Their views kind of over-ride out-o-staters' views...
