Two days ago, John Roberts would have likely been the swing vote. Dont think it takes much imagination to guess how that would turn out.
If Justice Ginsbergs seat remains vacant until the next President is sworn in, and the SC is deadlocked 4-4. The decision is then kicked back down to the previous lower courts ruling. So, we could in effect, have the next President of these United States decided by 3 federal judges, in presumably, the 4th circuit?
Is that right?
And in the mean time Nancy Pelosi would step in as interim President.
