On shorter barrels I think Bill A. research showed faster twist was desirable. AA uses 1.7.5:1 on 16 or shorter and might be used on AA 18 barrels. The most common twist today is 1:8 but back in 2010 1:9 was very common but is not ideal for the current long high BC 6.5/.264 bullets.
