I lived in that area for several years early in my career, and am from the midwest, so I can, I think, discuss several of your points.
In some cases I agree with you, his life is forever changed. That happens for any crisis-moment, defining event. I've had some, I'm sure we all have although maybe not his.
There are however several things you say that are incorrect.
First, he was not "acquitted by a jury for a criminal act" - it was not a criminal act. Being found not guilty as a matter of the law means it was not a criminal act, none of his actions were criminal. It was only allegedly a criminal act, one (or several, if you read the prosecutor's file), but it was definitely a traumatic scenario all around.
And there is no comparison to OJ, sorry. To the Martin-Zimmerman case from Florida, would be a closer similarity although still not a direct comparison. OJ set out to murder Nicole Brown, and his attorneys got him off on technicalities and jury confusions. Nicole did not attack or even threaten OJ. There was plenty of threatening going around that night in Kenosha for sure. Now all that being said it is something he will have to deal with the rest of his life, and taking anyone's life is not easy (unless you're a stone-cold killer, which are thankfully few and far between- I don't think anyone will put him, or even the ones that were shot, in that role... ). And frankly it doesn't matter much what any lib-media or idiot hollywooders think of him, it will matter what his family and friends think. Let's face it most others will desert you all too easily anyway, family/friends are what count.
There could well be some civil lawsuits to follow, initiated from either side to be sure. Those can follow from any traumatic/crisis event.
I'm sorry to hear that you went through whatever you did, and it for sure gives you a unique perspective. I would wish only the best for both you and Rittenhouse.
One serious take-away I get from all of this is, if you are going to go into something to defend whether property or human life, make darn sure you are ready and willing to live with the results, whatever they be. In that sense, it is much like the battlefields of war.
