Ya the uintah do look interesting. A rule of thumb Ive tried to adhere to in the rifle game is find out if what youre after is already commercially available...if not then and only then do you build. I mean if financial responsibility is part of the equation as builds cost a boatload and resale sucks.
The options are out there. I tell ya if we were allowed to play with ARs up here in Canada Id have a leadstar helium Grendel with a tbac ultra 5 on it about 6 lbs scoped and hunting. Well maybe 6.5 lbs as I prefer the Magpul ctr butt stock and being able to adjust lop so Id be adding a half lb back to ditch the carbon fixed buttstock. A suppressor up front will put some weight where its needed for hold and shoot-ability. Those leadstar heliums are like 4-4.5 lb bare!
