Remington Ammo Plant

Seeing how Vista owns both Federal and Remington it seems reasonable Remington would use the same bullet as used in Federal Gold Metal Match 6.5 Grendel. Who knows if the Remington will be rebadged Federal or new production ammo from Arkansas Remington plant.

I would imagine that the production equipment for the different bullets is different. Although it sounds like there was an effort to update Remington's existing equipment, I doubt that it would be worth the trouble to actually RE-TOOL the plant for entirely different bullets. For one thing, Remington ammo has a generational loyal following and many people who have had success with Remington ammo would rather not change. For another, there has not been enough time for a re-tooling. When I worked in manufacturing, new equipment often needed a lead time of two or more years. I doubt there has been much of a change, especially since the ammo shortage likely prompted the other existing ammo makers to put in orders for new equipment. There are not many companies who build the manufacturing equipment, so it is easy to overload them.
