Heres an easy way to check scope and base at 1K. At 100 yds ,white butcher paper 36" long put X at top and X at 31" below. Your scope is on the lower X bore sight and then adjust to hit upper X. At average of 2900-3000 FPS A 6mm 105 up to a 30 call will be on paper at 1K on four foot target. We would always put the X -hair center in scope with full adjustments up/down and horizontal. In other words a Leupold normally has four full rotations on turret bottomed out,go two full rotations and scope is at center of glass.Why we used Burris signature rings with inserts,lots of fine tuning there to center scope,just keep trying inserts till you are as close as possible to X. inserts from +- 5, +- 10,+-20 ...
