With Ukraine, thats the Neo-nazi angle. Russia has stay-behind operatives in every nation that used to be part of Warsaw Pact and the Russian sphere to conduct intelligence collection, subterfuge, extortion, bribery, sabotage, election-rigging, intimidation, and false-flag operations.
As soon as the Ukrainian people did the Euromaiden protests, then Putin had these agitator groups go start attacking ethnic Russians in Donbas, which was then used as a justification for invading that region and annexing Krim.
The problem with the modern American culture, conditioned by progressively-stupefying schooling over the past 120 years, is that it cant think about complicated scenarios that are elementary to history, and see all the nuances.
Its either this or that. Black or white.
It cant be a mixture of all the realities and competing actors. Thats too complicated to fathom, so we are steered into tidy little snippets of information to jump to conclusions, with a populace who doesnt even know where half of these places are, let alone their histories.
For me, this isnt philosophical because my family comes from Finland. I have real stories from relatives that survived WWII, who watched the horrors of war as civilians, as well as defense forces once Stalin invaded. So I cant afford to drive by in the medias fashion and snatch some limited information, then jump to a conclusion.
It takes many years just to become familiar with some of the basic geography of the region, none of which is taught in schools in the US.
We dont know our own geography. There are hordes of PolySci professors who arent aware of basic realities of US geography, but have been teaching for generations, filling students minds with retardation at the graduate level.
But these same people have it all figured out when it comes to foreign policy.
