yep. physics. a lighter rifle will kick more, the heavier one less.

I may have to look through the trijicon, SC, but I am still loving my Leupys. How heavy is the trijicon, by the way?

I did pick up a couple of 3x9 AR patrol or something like that name when they were discontinued. Nice TMR reticle, mil knobs, and a battery lit, strength adjustable illuminated dot at the center of the reticle. red. can adjust from off thru dim on up to bright. still good optics and not very heavy. It's on my mini Howa and still the whole rig only hits 6lb 5oz with sling.

however, when I get a chance to do some still hunting, the light weight is appreciated as I'm sure you can attest to. And your's is as light as it gets it seems. well done.

still, even in the mini howa I have, the 6.5 Grendel doesn't generate much recoil. Since I cannot hunt at night here, as interesting as they appear, and IR scope, for me, would not be of much good. The illuminated dot Leupy will have to suffice.

the recoil isn't bothersome, still a pussycat to shoot, but you don't catch impacts in scope, the worst part of the lightweight is trying to settle the crosshair for the shot, when shooting side by side with my 8 1/4 lb ruger chassis it's night and day difference, much easier and faster with the ruger, and for shooting multiple targets or wanting to 'stay in the game' for potential additional hits on one target then the heavier rig was in a different league for keeping the action in the scope to increase opportunity and or effectiveness

the trijicon accupoint 3-9x40 is 13.4 oz, still a very lightweight scope, they have illuminated by battery models also in credo line but are 17 oz, there is no comparison on the glass and image, that was first time on range I had put both side by side like that and the trijicon definitely worth the extra money over the typical 1" leupold and 30mm tube 40mm objective options

the illumination from the fiber optic goes well to about 45 minutes past sunset, I bet if a guy used those small 1" fishing glow sticks, you can often find them at dollar stores also, and fashioned a little stretchy sock to go over the fiber optic window for night hunts that would be a pretty stellar way to illuminate a lightweight scope with far better glass, that's how kick azz these scopes are imo, I'd rather glowstick a portion of the window under a dark sock or neoprene scope cover cut to just the eye piece end, or just use good ole electrical tape over the glow stick, in fact I may keep this on hand for when hunting from blinds, that's the down side to the fiber optic is that it needs to be out in the ambient light where you will be pointing the scope, from inside a blind or building you may not get the same light and you're reduced to just a regular crosshair, hardly a big deal but once you get used to that illuminated dot for hunting it's so intuitive and fast...would just keep a bag of glow sticks and roll of electrical tape in the same bag as the blind and all set for full days in a blind, I have these for fishing, I'm gonna go do this right now and see what I think lol

edit, just tried the glow stick under electrical tape, it didn't work, was still getting more light to reticle with what was available in the room, would need brighter source, two of those would have easily fit and maybe that would be enough but thinking but some small led like for boosting fiber optic archery sights etc. might be better option if trying to do something like this for the fiber optic boost for night work
