Cool project. Couldn’t see what finished barrel length is but looks short, I’m at 18.5”. He may have his best advantage there? He’s got about 1.5 oz win on his modded bottom plastic vs the 3.8-4 oz hokey’s hinged aluminum bottom I have. I could throw my plastic bottom back on and drop an ounce to get to 4.5 lb bare, but just can’t, hate it too much and would not waste effort to chop it for another half oz to match. I’ve got 3 oz advantage on action/bolt slab/flute, and he’s got 2.5 oz advantage on stock. So his other win might be the shorter barrel. We are definitely splitting hairs on our differences.

I may have to concede the crown of lightest Grendel bolt action in the world lol. And happy to do so, I posted this thread to see if anything else out there close. Thanks for bringing to my attention. I won’t do plastic or shorter barrel to compete so looks like he has the win. The stock is pretty cool, had to do what you could before the stocky’s carbon, which is the easy button now, that’s a ton of work for a 1.5-2.5 oz gain. Now if our rifles could get together and have a kid then we’d get down to 2.5 kg scoped with suppressor. He just needs to slab/flute that action/bolt and he’s got the crown as no one will match his stock weight.
