The fatter, longer 6.5x55 case is sure to make up that 7gr difference in bullets.
At best, 6.5x55 matches the (392gr) 7.62x51 cartridge weight. At worst, 6.5x55 is a few grains heavier.
But, if logical analysis doesn't convince you, I've asked some people who should be able to weigh a loaded round.
