Alright so I'm not real sure where to place this. It somewhat goes along with the conversations that we've had here recently. Bwaites if there's somewhere else this belongs relocate me please.
Anyways
Does anybody have a link to or a CAD file for 6.5 Grendel Brass, they could provide me with?
I'm currently taking a class on Finite Element Analysis. It's basically computer aided stress analysis and thermal analysis. I thought it'd be fun to do the FEA on Grendel brass at max pressure under optimal operations, through a range of expected pressures. I've debated on comparing it to the 5.56 Nato brass and maybe another brass, but I don't think it'll serve any useful purpose. If you think I'm wrong and it will please let me know and I may go that route.
So back to the CAD file. I could CAD it up myself, but honestly I don't have the time. There's also the fact that since it's SAMMI Spec'd the CAD should already be out there somewhere and likely more accurate than what I'd CAD myself. My intent is to get the most accurate results, as possible.
I do plan to open source the results it on the forum. I know they're at least a few nerds like me on here that'd find it interesting.
